1098 Lullwater Road

Personally, my favorite Crook-designed homes are his most distinctive -- those in which he combines traditional, classical elements in such a way as to create a unique and fresh result. I like the symmetry of this house. It's well-balanced.

July 1997 -- The picture you see below does not portray the home in its current state, for the owners have commissioned Architectural Design Concepts and the James Cotton Builders to alter it. Once completed, I may publish a picture of the renovated home, but my heart won't be in it. Although I know that alterations comprise a large part of any architect's work (Buck was responsible for many, himself), I also can't help feeling a sense of loss. Pretty snobby, huh? :-)
